Jimmy Hallyburton
Boise Bicycle Project Founder, Executive Director
Boise, ID
With no nonprofit experience, I started the Boise Bicycle Project, BBP (a nonprofit bicycle cooperative) in 2007. Since then we've donated over 4000 bicycles to children and recycled another 6000 bicycles back onto the streets of Boise. In 2013, BBP became one of 9 platinum level Bicycle Friendly Businesses in the country. We now have 15 employees, over 600 active members, and over 500 active volunteers. The best part of my job? The opportunity to meet and learn from amazing people every day!
A bit about Boise... we have 4th highest bicycle commuting % in the country. The Idaho Stop Law? Heck Yah. We just recently partnered to with the Governor to make biking and walking questions mandatory on the Statewide Drivers Ed exam. Come visit Boise, the future Bicycle Capitol of America!
