The League and
MORE, the DC area chapter of the
International Mountain Bicycling Association, are teaming up for a tour of our capital's urban single track trails as part of the National Bike Summit & Women's Forum
Meet at the Fort Dupont Activity Center on Fort Dupont Drive, SE off of Randle Circle at 9:15 am for a short pre-ride talk on how mountain bike advocacy fits into the big picture, and how trail systems like Fort Dupont can benefit urban communities. Wheels will be rolling at 10:00 am, so don't be late!
Either a mountain bike or hybrid/cyclocross bike are appropriate for the terrain. The most technical obstacles at the park are gravel surfaces, wooden water bars, and wet leaves. This will be a no drop ride, and all speeds/skill levels are welcome.
The ride will be
roughly 12 miles, with optional add ons and bailouts depending on our group. This will be a fun way to learn DC’s only singletrack network and some of the only National Park Service trails open to mountain bikes in the country!
