Urban Mountain Bike Ride

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The League and MORE, the DC area chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association, are teaming up for a tour of our capital's urban single track trails as part of the National Bike Summit & Women's Forum

Meet at the Fort Dupont Activity Center on Fort Dupont Drive, SE off of Randle Circle at 9:15 am for a short pre-ride talk on how mountain bike advocacy fits into the big picture, and how trail systems like Fort Dupont can benefit urban communities. Wheels will be rolling at 10:00 am, so don't be late!

Either a mountain bike or hybrid/cyclocross bike are appropriate for the terrain. The most technical obstacles at the park are gravel surfaces, wooden water bars, and wet leaves. This will be a no drop ride, and all speeds/skill levels are welcome.

The ride will be roughly 12 miles, with optional add ons and bailouts depending on our group. This will be a fun way to learn DC’s only singletrack network and some of the only National Park Service trails open to mountain bikes in the country!
