Bicycling has the power to resuscitate economically declining small towns. Hear amazing stories of what it took to develop two rural communities through bicycling. Rockmart, GA, was in steep economic decline prior to the construction of the Silver Comet. The addition of this 61.5 mile long non-motorized, multi-use trail has revived towns along the route by drawing nearly 2 million users per year for a regional economic impact of $50 million. Warsaw, MO, a community of 2100, continues to attract cyclists through their creation of mountain bike trails, levee trails, multiuse trails, a major bike/ped bridge crossing and an on-road bicycle route system.

This session qualifies for .75 CM credits.
